Mehmet Fırat Can Haraç

Founding Attorney

Mehmet Fırat Can Haraç has been a member of the Istanbul Bar Association since 2020 and is the founder of Haraç Law & Consulting. His working languages are Turkish and English, and he works with a professional team able to provide interpreter support in French, Italian and Arabic.

His practice focuses primarily on criminal law and criminal procedure. In addition to criminal investigations and prosecutions, he represents clients in extradition proceedings in Türkiye and abroad, INTERPOL and Red Notice matters, immigration-related proceedings and international criminal law matters.

He represents clients in individual applications before the Constitutional Court of Türkiye and the European Court of Human Rights, as well as applications before INTERPOL’s Commission for the Control of Files (CCF), and provides legal services in matters requiring international judicial cooperation. He addresses fundamental rights and freedoms particularly in connection with criminal proceedings and international legal processes.

He provides representation and legal advice to foreign nationals living in Türkiye or having legal connections with Türkiye, and works in cooperation with lawyers across Europe and other jurisdictions in cross-border matters.

Haraç is pursuing an LL.M. in Public Law at Bahçeşehir University, with academic work focusing particularly on criminal procedure law.

He serves as an Executive Officer of the European Young Bar Association (EYBA) and is actively involved in the Association’s work relating to the Council of Europe. In this capacity, he contributes to initiatives aimed at strengthening professional cooperation among lawyers in Europe and relations with European legal institutions.
